Frequently asked tutoring questions

What topics/cameras do you cover?

No question is too small. I cover most digital photography topics from camera basics, fundamentals basics, exposure settings, lighting, flash, Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom, action/sports, landscape, portraits, posing. I'm most experienced with Nikon but can work with any digital camera. I approve every session manually so if you're requesting a topic I can't cover, I'll contact you to cancel the session, refund the deposit and help you find the coverage you need.

How many sessions do I need?

Most clients start with one session and then schedule additional sessions as necessary. Some photographers need only one session to accelerate in a new skill or get an overview of photography basics. Some take a few sessions, practice, and then come back a different season for more.

How does the booking process work?

You'll pay a $20 refundable reservation fee and the remaining $40 when you arrive for your session ($60 total). You must book 24 hours or more in advance. I'll manually confirm your session. You'll get a confirmation with your Zoom meeting link and followup reminders.

Do you travel to my location?

The default option when booking a session is Online, which is through Zoom. However, I approve each request manually so if we both agree an in-person session is better, we can arrange it within the Horicon or Mayville area.

Do you have a student discount?

Yes, students get 50% off with valid student ID card or proof of age under 18.

Can I get a price break with multiple sessions?

Yes, you get $10 off your second session and $20 off your third hourly session with me, and then the price resets to $60. For example, if you do 5 sessions, you'll pay $60, $50, $40, $60 and $50.

How do I pay you?

Payment is done in full via Stripe, Venmo or PayPal when you book your session. No checks for 1:1 sessions. This is to ensure you're committed to attending and accelerating your photography. Thank you.

What is your cancellation policy?

I have a 24 hour cancellation policy. You may cancel any time up to 24 hours before your scheduled booking for a full refund. If you cancel within 24 hours of the scheduled booking, I keep the $20 deposit. If I cancel the event, you get a full refund.
